9. Research
Research is one of the essential parts of training of specialists.
As a part of Audit Units must record numbers of patients entered into clinical
trials and details of all other research. Units should be encouraged to provide
research opportunities and this must be taken into account when assessing units
for their suitability for accepting trainees.
